Match Reports - 2010

Round 18

Our last round for the season came down to a "do or die" match for the boys.  A win would keep us in top spot and become Champions.  Pascoe Vale hosted Upfield SC at home ground.  This team was the only team that Pascoe Vale lost to back in Round 9 and we knew it was going to be a tough game.  Pascoe Vale scored first with a brilliant goal by Tas (1), followed by a double to Beau (2).  Upfield managed to score one to make the scores 3 -1 at half time.  Half way into the second half, Jamil was tripped in the box to give us a penalty.  Jamil stepped up and scored, Jamil (1).  Upfield scored again followed by Thomas (1) and Daniel (1) to make the final score, Pascoe Vale 6, Upfield 2.

The boys celebrated the win and maintained top spot for 2010.

The Coach and Team Manager would like to thank all parents and friends for their ongoing support throughout the season and in particular to all the boys for their hard work, determination and spirit which finally paid off in the end.  (And that's not all!  There is also the finals which we will be participating in the next fortnight.)

Ladder position:  Champions 2010!

Round 17

No points to Pascoe Vale due to a bye.

Ladder position:  Still 1st !

Round 16

Pascoe Vale hosted Essendon Royals at home ground.  Four goals to Beau (4) and two to Daniel (2) gave Essendon Royals no chance at all.  Pascoe Vale was back with a win after last week's draw to maintain top spot on the ladder.  Great effort to all the boys once again!

Ladder position:  1st

Round 15

Pascoe Vale travelled to Sumner Park to play against Brunswick Zebras.  Pascoe Vale against scored first with a goal by Daniel (1).  In the second half Brunswick Zebras came out firing scoring three unanswered goals to stun Pascoe Vale.  With only 8 minutes left Pascoe Vale was looking to face a loss.  Then a goal to George (1) brought the score back to 2 -3.  With only a minute left Pascoe Vale won a corner.  The cross was a brilliant one that found Robert (1) who scored to equalise.  Final scores 3 - 3.

Ladder position:  1st

Practice Match

Pascoe Vale played a friendly match against Australian International Academy.  The game was very fast with plenty of goals by both sides.  Pascoe Vale managed to win 8 - 7.  We thank Adam Nahal and the Australian International Academy for use of their grounds.

Round 14

Pascoe Vale hosted second spot North City Lions at home.  Pascoe Vale scored first in the second half by a brilliant cross from Daniel finding Beau who headed the ball in the net (Beau 1).  Pascoe Vale had to defend as North City Lions responded with plenty of attack.  They managed to score and level.  Final scores 1 - 1.

Ladder position:  1st

Round 13

Pascoe Vale played Avondale Heights at Doyle Reserve.  The first half the game was very even in ball possession.  It took a handball in the penalty box by Avondale Heights that gave Pascoe Vale a penalty 2 minutes before half time.  Jamil stepped up to take the penalty which he scored to give Pascoe Vale a 1-nil lead at half time, Jamil (1).  The second half was the same, a brilliant cross by Daniel found Beau with a header to give us our second goal, Beau (1).  Following by a blast by Tas (1) gave us our third goal.  Credit to Avondale Heights scoring one goal.  Final scores 3-1.

Ladder position:  1st

Round 12

Pascoe Vale hosted Moreland City at home ground.  This game had to be won in order to remain on top of the ladder.  The weather conditions were terrible with high winds.  Jamil, the team captain went against the wind in the first half.  Pascoe Vale was held by good defending from Moreland City and managed to score one goal in the first half.  Goal scorer was Daniel (1).

At half time, the boys were reminded of the terrible weather conditions and were told that good defending had to be in place to hold onto the 1 - nil lead.  Credit to Moreland City for outplaying Pascoe Vale in the second half, however they could not manage to score.  I think the boys sang their team song the loudest after that win knowing that they were still on top spot.  Great keeping by Leigh and strong defending by Johnny gave us that win.

Ladder position:  1st

Round 11

Pascoe Vale played away against Gisborne.  The game was going to be an easy win for us so we had to score alot of goals as this was going to make a difference to the top spot.  Pascoe Vale won 15-1.  The goal scorers were Daniel (10), Jamil (2), Seman (1), George (1) and Chris (1).  After the long drive back the game put alot of smiles back onto the players faces and the parents knowing that we may be in top spot on the ladder.  Due to me writing this email late, I was correct, it had put us on top!  It was nice to see the ladder with Pascoe Vale finally on top.  All the hard work and dedicated time had paid off.
Well done boys!

Ladder position:  1st

Round 10

Pascoe Vale was at home to Hume City.  This game was not going to be an easy game because Hume City drawed with us in Round 1.  Pascoe Vale started off in dynamic fire kicking the first goal in a matter of minutes.  The goal came by a header to Beau (1).  Then a second to Beau (1) followed by Daniel (1) and Tas (1) gave Pascoe Vale a 4 - 1 win.  It was a great effort by all the team to win against Hume City.  A special effort by our goal keeper - Leigh which saved several goals from going in made a huge difference.  Well done!

Ladder position: 2nd

Round 9

It was good for the boys to be back playing after last week's bye.  Pascoe Vale travelled to Gibb Reserve to play Upfield.  The game looked difficult on paper due to Upfield's recent winning streak.  Pascoe Vale was really flat and slow in the first half which allowed Upfield to kick 4 unanswered goals.  In the second half, goals by Johnny (1), and a double to Daniel (2) put Pascoe Vale back in the game but one more to Upfield was too late for Pascoe Vale to catch up.  The final scores were Upfield 5, Pascoe Vale 3.

Ladder position:  2nd

Round 8
Pascoe Vale was looking forward to playing Preston Lions at home ground.  The game saw the first half being tough for the team.  Goals by Daniel (1) and a double to Beau (2) gave Pascoe Vale a 3-1 first half lead.  Following a very good second half, with goals to Suman (1) and another double to Beau (2) gave Pascoe Vale a final score win of 6-3.  That win was the 5th in the row for Under 14s.
Ladder position:  TBA (pending final results of top team).

Round 7
Pascoe Vale travelled to Ormond Park to play against Essendon Royals.  The game was going to be an easy win for us but a good play by Essendon Royals and a little position change and set plays allowed Essendon Royals to challenge us to a tough game.  However, a triple by Daniel (3) followed by a double by Johnny (2) and goals by George (1) and Beau (2) gave Pascoe Vale a 9-7 win.
Ladder position:  2nd.

Round 6
Once again this was going to be a tough game against Brunswick Zebras.  Goal by Daniel followed by a penalty to Thomas taken by Jamil gave Pascoe Vale a 2-0 win.  Another good effort by the boys.
Ladder position:  2nd.

Round 5
Pascoe Vale travelled to Wallace Reserve to play North City Lions "top of the table clash".  The game was always going to be a tough game with a powerful blast by Jamil and Johnny's goals followed by one by Daniel and Tas which gave Pascoe Vale a 4-1 win.  It was an excellent effort performed by all players and good to get back-to-back wins.
Ladder position: 3rd.

Round 4
Pascoe Vale played Avondale Heights at home.  Goals from Daniel, Johnny and Jamil secured a 3-1 win.  It was great to get back on the winning circuit.
Ladder position:  5th.

Round 3
Pascoe vale under 14s travel to campbell reserve to play Moreland City.
The game the boys played was allways going to be a very dificault because both teams had to win, for us a win would have made it back to back wins. It was goal for goal and a very good game from both teams. The final scores were 3-3 a good result but no 3 point for the second time this season. Goal scores were 3 to Daniel.

Round 2
Pascoe Vale under 14s played against Gisborne at home. The boys had one of the best games this year controling the game from the opening minutes. the score 13-0. The goal scores were - Beau 3 Danial 3 Johny 2 and singles to Leigh,Chris,Tas,Saman and David. The boys are 3rd on the ladder.

Round 1
Pascoe Vale Under 14s played away against Hume United at Laura Douglas Reserve.  The boys played a hard game and at 5 minutes to the finishing time the boys were down 4-2 and produced a miracle to equalise 4-4.  The scorers were, Jamil, Daniel, Johnny and Thomas.  It was a great effort from all the players to come away with the one point.  Well done!

"Practice Match on Sunday, 21 March 2010

The under 14's played their first game together for the year against Greenvale United.  Final scores were 4-4.  Well done! "

" On behalf of the Coach and Team Manager we congratulate all the boys who were selected in our Under 14's 2010 squad (they all know who they are!) and we would also like to congratulate Jamil Malikyar being voted for Team Captain and Thomas Tassoulas voted for Team Vice Captain by their peers.  We are looking forward to a great year ahead! "
