Trials at Pascoe Vale Soccer Club:

The club’s Football Department would like to thank all past and present players, parents and members for their contributions in making Pascoe Vale Soccer Club a successful community club. However, with the announcement that the club has successfully gained an NPLV license, its mandate has shifted from being the best ‘community’ club possible to being the best ‘elite’ club possible. As such, it needs to provide an opportunity for all boys that are interested to officially trial at the club, with the best 16 players chosen for each age group between U/12 to U/16. The club wishes all players, especially its present players the best of luck in gaining a place in their respective squads.

For anyone wanting information on how the trialing process will be conducted, the club will be using literature found in Chapter 13 (p. 232) from the publication titled, ‘The Football Coaching Process,’ by Kelly Cross as a guide. This can be found at the link below.

A final note from the TD:

Last week, at the end of a trial session, an unsuccessful applicant asked, “Is it ok if I come back and trial next year?” My response, “Absolutely!”

I encourage all applicants to observe this mindset, continue to play the game you love and continue to develop as footballers. As one of the most successful sportsman of all time once said,

“I've missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I've lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I've been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I've failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.” Michael Jordan
