Paco juniors shine in Sunshine George Cross Cup.

Pascoe Vale’s under 10 Kangaroos have finished as runners-up in the final of the Sunshine George Cross Cup on Saturday.

The side was coached throughout the tournament by Alex Michaels in place of regular coach Vitale Ferrante, who was on duty with the senior squad in Hobart on Saturday.

The two teams from the under 11s both progressed to the final of the competition after competing in searing temperatures in the mid-30s.

Theo Mihalidis's team managed three wins and a loss, while Nick Georgeopoulos's team won all four of their matches.

Their record ensured that they would meet in the final. Nick’s team came out on top 5-2, with a strong second half proving the difference.

In news from our girl’s side, both under 14 and under 16 sides have qualified for the final to be played on February 21.

All of the coaches expressed their delight with the players, including for the girls who backed up to play four consecutive matches.
