Pascoe Vale Football Club will kick off its 2016 National Premier League campaign against Avondale at CB Smith Reserve in Fawkner on Friday night.
Paco will be looking to better its 2015 season, which saw it reach the preliminary final of the NPL before bowing out in extra time against premiers South Melbourne.
The side has enjoyed a successful pre-season, which it will hope to build on come Round 1.
2015 NPL Rising Star Jake Halliday has been the only player to leave the club in the off-season, while Yusei Kitade, Luka Prelevic, Aaron Cohen, Peter Deng, Dennis Martin and Cameron Tew are new players to have committed to the club in 2016.
Head coach Vitale Ferrante says he is hoping to hit the ground running in the early rounds.
"The boys are looking forward to the start of the season,” Ferrante said.
“The hard work's been done. We're very happy with the preparation.
"We're playing one of the touted front runners at home, and it will be a good test for us.
"Our first game is at home before we have four away, so we'll be looking for a good start."
