This week the U’11 Kangaroos were at home for the last game of the season against Brunswick City 1. Brunswick City has been undefeated all year and had already wrapped up the championship. This game was intense and high in pressure. Pascoe Vale were unlucky not have scored twice from two good passages of play during the first half. However, it was Brunswick City that scored first. Only one goal split the teams at half time. Pascoe Vale had the better of the second half. An equaliser was scored as well as the post denying Pascoe Vale two more goals. In the end the game finished a draw. It was a great game by all the boys to hold the top team to a draw for thee second time this year. It was a fantastic effort to finish the season. Congratulations to Nathan Karic on captaining the team today.

Round 17

Pascoe Vale U’11 Kangaroos V Hume City

4 September 2011

This week the U’11 kangaroos played away against Hume City. The first time these two sides met it was a very one sided game to Pascoe Vale. However, this time it was a close encounter. Pascoe Vale scored the first two goals of the game and should have had more but struggled to finish due to the smaller goals used on the day by Hume City. Hume City managed to score a goal before half time and forced the scores to be close at half time. Pascoe Vale lifted their intensity in the second half while Hume City played more physical. However, Pascoe Vale still managed two more goals to make sure of victory. It was a great effort by the boys taking into account the conditions and the team being a little under maned. Congratulations to Dorian Battistella on captaining the team today.

Round 16

Pascoe Vale U’11 Kangaroos V Brunswick Zebras 1

21 August 2011

This week the U’11 kangaroos played home against Brunswick Zebras 1. The first time these two teams played the scores finished level so another tight game was expected. The first half was very even and intense but it was the Zebras that scored first with a shot on goal that came off the post. Pascoe Vale tried hard to equalise and were unlucky when their best chance for the half just went over the cross bar. Within the first minute of the second half, Pascoe Vale found the equaliser. The rest of the game was very tight and both backlines held up strong. The game finished in a draw. The result proved how equally matched these two teams were. A great game was had by all. Well done to all the boys. Congratulations to Thomas Privitelli on captaining the team today.

Round 15

14 August 2011

TheU’11 Kangaroos played away this week against the Essendon Royals 2. Pascoe Vale settled more quickly and scored the first two goals of the game. Once the Royals settled, they started coming forward with more purpose. The Royals pressed hard and the cross bar denied them scoring on two occasions. However, after some long range shooting the Royals managed to score two goals and forced the scores to be equal. Not long before half time Pascoe Vale scored again. The second half was played much tighter than the first. However, Pascoe Vale managed to score the only goal of the half. Pascoe Vale held on to record a hard fought win. It has been three weeks since the boys have tasted victory so it was a good feeling for the boys to finally win a game. Well done to all of the boys. Congratulations to Dorian Battistella on captaining the team today.

Round 13

Pascoe Vale U’11 Kangaroos V
Brunswick City 2

31 July 2011

The U’11 Kangaroos played away against Brunswick City 2 this week. The boys were out to redeem themselves after last week’s loss.
Brunswick City played a very physical game and Pascoe Vale struggled to cope with this style of game. Regardless it was Pascoe Vale that scored the only goal in the first half. In the second half Brunswick City scored to level the scores but Pascoe Vale responded. Not even five minutes had passed and Brunswick City equalised. From this point on Pascoe Vale dominated the remainder of the game in search of the winning goal.  Unfortunately the goal never came and the game ended in a draw. The boys tried their best against a very physical side and also considering that a number of players were carrying injuries or were unavailable due to illness. Well done to all the boys and lets hope we have some luck on our side next week. Congratulations to Kosta Sangas for captaining the side today.

Round 12

Pascoe Vale U’11 Kangaroos V Light United

24 July 2011

This week the U’11 Kangaroos were at home to Light United. Going on the game between these two teams earlier in the season, this was always going to be a tough game for the Pascoe Vale boys. The wet heavy ground also suited Light United’s aggressive style of play. The first half was closely contested and it was the opposition that scored first from a lucky shot on goal. After numerous passages of attacking play, Pascoe Vale eventually managed to equalise. Scores were level at half time. The second half was dominated by Pascoe Vale trying to chase the winning goal. Late in the second half, Light United won a corner from one of their rare attacks. It was from this corner late in the game that Light United scored the decisive goal. Pascoe Vale tried hard to find an equaliser but ran out of time. The boys just fell short in the end and suffered their second loss of the season. Luck deprived the boys today but regardless they still gave all they had. I’m sure the boys will step up and bounce back next week. Congratulations to Julian Chiofalo for captaining the side today.

 Round 11

Pascoe Vale U’11 Kangaroos V Brunswick Zebras 2

17 July 2011

This week the U’11 kangaroos played away for their round 11 game against Brunswick Zebras 2.  Pascoe Vale started strong and shocked the opposition with their desperation and hunger for the ball. Pascoe Vale dominated the game in attack and midfield while the defence stood strong and did not allow the Zebras any threatening shots on goal. At half time Pascoe Vale had one of their biggest half time leads for the year. In the second half the focus was more on passing and rotating players in different positions on the ground.  The Zebras battled hard in the second half and were much more competitive. Even so, Pascoe Vale still managed to outscore them and come away big winners. The highlight for today was the way the boys came to do a job and play from start of the game. This was evident with the great performance in the first half. Well done to all the boys. Congratulations to Andrea Palmarella for captaining the side today.

Round 10

Pascoe Vale U’11 Kangaroos V North City Lions

3 July 2011

The U’11 Kangaroos were at home to kick start the second half of the season.  The question was could the boys continue the good form they have produced in the first half of the season. Pascoe Vale started well doing all the attacking but the boys were finding it a little difficult to score. Eventually Pascoe Vale took the lead. Nth City Lions were coming forward but found it hard to have any decent strikes at goal. The Pascoe Vale defence was holding up strong. About half way into the first half and against the run of play, the Nth City Lions equalised. After conceding this goal the intensity of the Pascoe Vale boys increased and broke the confidence of the Nth City Lions. Pascoe Vale then started to dominate the game and commenced scoring goals at ease. The boys held a big lead at half time. The second half was more of the same. Pascoe Vale dominated all areas of the ground and focussed more on their passing game. In the end Pascoe Vale ran out big winners and had several goal scorers on the day. Well done to all the boys for playing as a team. Congratulations to Nikolas on captaining the team today.

Pascoe Vale had a number of chances to score and was eventually rewarded.  At half time the scores were level. The second half again was a close contest. Brunswick scored first and looked like they were going to hold on for the win. 19 June 2011

This week the U’11 kangaroos played home against Hume City. This game proved to be a very one sided game with Pascoe Vale dominating from start to end. Pascoe Vale held a big lead at half time so the focus in the second half was to pass the ball more. The boys did pass the ball around more in the second and this led to more goals being scored in the second half compared to the first half. A good game was had by all the players in the big win. Congratulations to Nathan Karic on captaining the team today.

The Zebras held on to their lead at half time. Again the second half was a close and intense contest. Pascoe Vale were coming forward but the Zebras defence was very well structured and disciplined and kept closing down Pascoe Vale’s attacks. With 2 minutes left in the game, Pascoe Vale finally equalised. The game finished a draw. It was through sheer persistence that Pascoe Vale managed a draw. Well done to all the boys.
