MATCH REPORT | EXHIBITION GAME PVFC v SHFC

A Yusei Kitade strike one minute from time provided Vitale Ferrante’s side with another victory in its pre-season, this time downing South Hobart 2-3 at Darcy Street on Saturday afternoon.

Erik Priz started in goal for the visiting outfit, after regular number one Alexander Pavlidis suffered a knock in mid-week against Oakleigh Cannons.

New Japanese recruit Yusei Kitade was given a chance to start from the get-go, while fellow new signings Luka Prelevic and Aaron Cohen were on the bench.

Pascoe Vale was looking to reverse a 4-3 loss suffered to its Tasmanian opponents three weeks earlier, but its hopes were given a shake when talismanic winger Darcy Hall came in at the back post to coolly slot home past Erik Priz.

Davey van’t Schip was everywhere for the visitors and finally found his goal to get Paco back on level terms. The Dutchman timed his run to perfection to meet Joseph Youssef’s pass to round the goalkeeper and tap into a vacant net.

Ken Morton’s side restored its lead though from the penalty spot after Adrian Talarico tripped up Darcy Hall, who made no mistake from the resultant penalty kick.

Paco wasn’t quite out of the match though, with van’t Schip notching up his second of the day from a curling right-footed effort that slammed in off the cross-bar.

The leveller motivated Ferrante’s side to push for the winner, which it found with only one minute remaining in regulation time. Luca Santilli’s deft touch allowed him to pick out Kitade, who blasted the ball into the corner to seal the win.
