Match Reports - 2009
  Round 1 - 26/04/2009
This week we played away against Peninsula at Frankston. Conditions were cold and blustery but the rain held off for the entire game. It was a very tight contest all game against a very tall opposition. Both side played a very entertaining game with the ball moving up and down the ground regularly. The game ended in a 1-1 draw. Well done to everyone for a great game. Welcome to all our first time players who also performed well and thankyou to all of our parents for making the long journey to Frankston.

Round 2 - 03/05/2009
A very disappointing game indeed. Our first game at home for the season against Caulfield and a 2-0 loss. We had plenty of the ball and it was not the end result that was disappointing, but the manner in which the goals were scored. Lots of very basic mistakes and plenty to focus in the weeks ahead.

Round 3 - 09/05/2009
Another disappointing game against Ashburton. We had the ball most of the game and had many shots on goal hitting the woodwork or missing. We lost the game 2-1 due to some un-disciplined play that gave away a free kick and penalty kick which resulted in goals. Despite the loss and disappointment the girls are generally showing good technical improvement, which the coach is pleased about, but we have a lot of work to do tactically.

Round 4 - 17/05/2009
A much better game despite loosing to Berwick City 3-1. The girls dominated most of the first half and stuck to their positions very well. By half time the score was 0-0. In the second half we continued to pressure the opposition and this resulted in a goal to Pascoe Vale. With 15 minutes to go the opposition came back hard and had us under pressure causing panic and loss of concentration. This resulted in an equalizer. Another quick goal followed which appeared to take away the teams confidence. The opposition capitalized and tightened the pressure to end the game 3-1. Good game and with lots of lessons for all of us.

Round 5 - 24/05/2009
A reasonable game against Banyule City at home. However a fade out in the last few minutes resulted in 2 quick goals and another disappointing loss for the team.

Round 6 - 31/05/2009
A cold and foggy start this morning away against south yarra. It was an even contest overall. The opposition had the upper hand in the first half, but their attacks were not very effective. We woke up during the second half and had several opportunities that went astray. The final result was a 0-0 draw.

Round 7 - 14/06/2009
This week we hosted Boorandara Eagles at home. The game was very even and highly entertaining. An unfortunate keeping mishap resulted in the opposition scoring a goal. The final score was a 0-1 loss to the Eagles. Despite this the team played very well, but we missed our chances.

Round 8 - 21/06/2009
The girls played away against one of the top teams Brighton, but lost the game 1-0. It was a tough encounter with a strong opposition. However, our defense did an awesome job and held off numerous attacks. We several opportunities, but were just not strong enough up forward to be able to penetrate.

Round 9 - 28/06/2009
A fantastic game against the top team in Sandrigham. The ball went back and forwards and both teams had there chances to score. Pascoe Vale scored first and the opposition soon equalized. The game continued as it started and with a few minutes to the end of the game Pascoe Vale scored again to eventually win their first game. A fantastic first win.
