Match Reports - 2009

  Round 1 - 26/04/2009
Terrible conditions at home against North Caulfield played havoc with the game. Nonetheless it was an entertaining game and an even contest ending in a 2-2 draw. The team played reasonably well overall for the first game. Welcome to all the new players on the team that have transferred from various other clubs.

Round 2 - 03/05/2009
The girls played away against Croydon City Arrows for their first win of the season. The opposition scored first within a few minutes of the start to put pressure on the team. Pascoe Vale bounced back and ended the game with a 2-1 win. A good tight game by both teams. Well done to Elif Elma our sole goal scorer.

Round 3 - 09/05/2009
Being a goal down after 7 minutes of play, the girls showed a great deal of fight and tenacity to score at the 22 minute mark against Essendon Royals. The second half was a dominated by a strong defensive effort, resulting in a credible 1-1 draw. Well done to the team on a positive start to the season.

Round 4 - 17/05/2009
Our round 4 clash against Sherbrooke Rangers commenced with the long trek to Wandin East. The game started with a flurry, with the girls scoring within the first minute! The first half was dominated with strong attacking runs by the midfield, well supported by our attackers who finished off the hard work. The forwards and midfielders placed immense pressure on the Sherbrooke defenders in our forward half, resulting in numerous opportunities. The relentless assault on the goals resulted in 7 goals in the first half. Whilst the pace of the game slowed somewhat, the relentless play continued with another 2 goals resulting in a dominant 9-0 win. Elif continued her goal kicking prowess, well supported by Anastasia in scoring 4 and 3 goals respectively. Overall the girls are starting to play wells a team, supporting each other and growing in confidence.
