Round 1 - 26/04/2009
A fantastic start for SSF. Pascoe Vale is part of a club hub
that includes Keilor Park, Essendon United, Altona City,
Melbourne Knights and North City Soccer Clubs. That's more than
300 U6 to U8 boys and girls playing soccer, many for the first
time.
This week Keilor Park hosted all clubs at their ground in a
carnival like atmosphere with lots of excited children keen to
play. And play they did. The SSF format provided an enjoyable
experience for both children and parents.
Round 2 - 16/05/2009
What do you
have when you get 100+ 5-8 year olds all wanting to play
soccer? Organized chaos thats what you get. This week
Pascoe Vale hosted Altona City and North City Lions in our
first SSF tournament. The weather for the day looked very
ominous and it threatened to rain several times.
Thankfully it held off not that this would have made any
difference to some very excited youngsters. We had 18
teams with names such as sharks, spiders and so on playing
2 games each on nine pitches. It turned out to be a great
morning of fun for the kids and lots of pride from the
parents. Well done to all involved and thankyou to the
dads and coaches for helping with the preparations.
FFV Gala Day Fawkner JSC - 30/05/2009
A cold morning, not that the kids noticed. Our U6-U8 were
very excited to be playing in their first FFV Gala day at
Fawkner. All our kids did their best, but most of all they
had a great deal of fun. The parents enjoyed themselves as
well.
FFV Gala Night at Darebin -
19/06/2009
Our U8's played at Darebin
Sports Centre this week the headquarters of the FFV. The
Gala day was held at night and played on the synthetic
turf, a welcomed change from the dirt and mud.
Unfortunately Mark Schwartzer was not able to attend,
but all of the kids received an autographed copy of his
book. The kids had a great time while the parents tried
to keep warm in the crisp night air. We finished the
night by treating the kids to late super at McDonalds.
